Seminario "Biomedical Ultrasound and Signal and Image Processing: Some Examples".
Biomedical Ultrasound is a field that has been growing strongly since the 70’s. The First applications were directed to diagnostics (Obstetrics, gynecology, angiology), then, it was expanded to heart (echocardiography), eye, muscles, urology and even lungs, more recently. The most important diagnostic tool is elastography which is a way to measure the shear wave sin the body by using ultrasound. In all these applications strong image and signal processing is applied. This talk presents some examples of nowadays research on biomedical ultrasound that is being carried on in our Ultrasound Laboratory.
