Seminario "From computational neuroscience to ... FPGAs"
During this talk, I will first briefly describe several principles of bio-inspired neural networks (spikes, rate coding, competition, neural fields). Then I will give an overview of the activities of the Cortex team that studies theoretical and applied aspects of these bio-inspired models.
These activities range from modeling elementary neurons to analysing EEG signals for brain-computer interfaces. One of our lines of research is related to embedded and embodied neural systems that handle perception-action tasks. This is the framework of our collaboration with Mexican researchers through the INRIA CorTexMex associate team, for which I will mention the main activities and results.
Finally I will give more details about our study of dynamic neural fields applied to visual attention and multimodal perception.
