Cesar Torres is a full time researcher in computer science at the Information Technology Laboratory at the Center of Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV), in the research unit located in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico. His research interests include computational vision, reconfigurable computing, FPGAs and their computational applications, bio-inspired systems, and embedded computer systems. Cesar Torres is member of the National System of Researchers, Level I.


My research work is mainly focused in digital embedded implementations of massively distributed neural computations for perceptual tasks and neuromorphic vision.

Since march 2016, I am on a one year sabbatical leave at LORIA, Nancy, France, hosted by the BISCUIT research team.
