My main research interests and experience involve the analysis and design of (meta-)heuristic optimization techniques, as well as their application to challenging optimization problems with diverse characteristics (sigle-, multi-, and many-objective, combinatorial and continuous, constrained and unconstrained, ...) which arise in areas such as bioinformatics, data mining/machine learning, transportation/logistics, and communications.
